About Me
Biography:
I was born and raised in Guam, spending most of my childhood in Talofofo and Yona. From an early age, I wanted to be a doctor and continuously worked toward that goal. After graduating from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam, I attended the University of Pittsburgh, where I was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Bachelor of Arts in Japanese. I never intended to pursue a Bachelor of Arts, much less in Japanese, but was blessed with inspiring professors and enjoyable classes that helped balance the rigorous science courses. Although my BA was ultimately in Japanese, I had the fortune to study abroad at Beijing University. I never learned to speak Chinese, but it opened my eyes to the bigger world, having grown up on a small island.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, I attended New York Medical College, with the goal of returning home upon completion of my studies. It was a long road, but worth the long hours. It was almost surreal flying to Guam on a one way ticket, finally making it home for good in October 2011.
About my practice:
As an endocrinologist, I am deeply committed to helping my patients navigate the complexities of endocrine disorders. Whether managing diabetes, thyroid disorders, or other endocrinopathies, I take a personalized approach to care, ensuring each patient receives the guidance and treatment they need to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I believe in empowering my patients with knowledge, helping them understand their conditions so they can take an active role in their well being.
Beyond treating symptoms, I focus on long-term health and prevention, incorporating the latest advancements in endocrinology to provide the highest level of care. My practice is built on trust, compassion, and a commitment to improving quality of life. Every day, I am reminded of the resilience of my patients, and it inspires me to continue learning, growing, and delivering the best possible care to those who rely on me.
How I thrive:
I thrive by balancing my passion for medicine with my love for adventure. Travelling with my family allows me to recharge and reconnect, giving me the energy to continue serving my patients with dedication. Living on Guam, we’re fortunate to have incredible destinations just a short flight away. These trips give me the chance to experience new cultures, explore beautiful landscapes, and most importantly, create lasting memories with the people I love.
Every journey reminds me of the importance of taking care of both body and soul. These moments of exploration fuel my passion for my work, reinforcing my belief that a well-balanced life leads to a more compassionate and fulfilled physician.

About Me
Biography:
I am Dr. Luan Nguyen, a proud Guam native and graduate of St. John’s School. My drive and passion have shaped both my athletic and professional journey. By the age of 15, I was Guam’s #1 men’s tennis player and later earned three gold medals in the 1998 Micronesian Games. Wanting to represent Guam on a higher level, I competed in Division I tennis for the University of Maryland Terrapins.
My journey in medicine began at Spartan Health Sciences University, where I earned my medical degree. I then completed my Family Medicine residency at Mount Carmel Health System. Committed to giving back to my community, I returned to Guam for the grand opening of AMC Mangilao and have been honored to be recognized as Pika’s Best Family Physician for three consecutive years. Most recently, I completed a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine with the Academy of Health & Integrative Medicine.
I come from a family deeply rooted in education and service. My mother, Yu Togashi, was a piano teacher, and my father, Dr. Luan Nguyen, served as the longtime Computer Center Director at the University of Guam. He played a key role in developing the island’s early IT infrastructure while also coaching many of Guam’s top-ranked tennis players. Their dedication and support have been a major influence on my own path.
About my practice:
In my practice, I take a holistic and personalized approach to health and wellness, blending modern medical advancements with integrative therapies. My areas of specialization include:
- Aesthetics & Longevity – Helping you look and feel your best
- Functional & Integrative Medicine – Addressing root causes, not just symptoms
- Genomics – Personalized treatments based on your unique genetic makeup
- Sports Medicine – Enhancing performance and injury recovery
Whether you’re looking to enhance your natural beauty, optimize performance, or manage chronic conditions, I tailor treatments to your individual needs. My goal is to empower you to achieve vibrant health through a combination of cutting-edge science and holistic practices.
I’m also fortunate to work with an amazing team dedicated to keeping our patients healthy. If I’m unavailable, rest assured that one of my trusted colleagues will be there to provide exceptional care.
How I thrive:
I love traveling with my family and exploring new insights in health and wellness. Sports remain a big part of my life, especially basketball and tennis, and I still have my heart set to becoming a world-ranked player on the ITF Masters Tour.
I also host the Newgen Peak Performance Podcast, where I engage with experts to discuss health optimization, interview health care professionals, and explore the social determinants of health. My long term goal is to help bridge gaps in healthcare by collaborating with gym and restaurant owners, medical providers, indigenous healers, insurance carriers, and policymakers to create a healthier Guam and beyond.

About Me
Biography:
My parents are both from inner city Philadelphia, but I spent much of my childhood living in an old farmhouse in rural Delaware. We even made one (disastrous) attempt at farming! As an adult I stayed on the east coast, mostly living in various parts of Virginia, my wife’s home state. We moved to Guam in 2015 while I was in the Air Force, and I served at Andersen AFB in the Family Health clinic until 2018. After a brief stint in Oklahoma we moved back to Guam in 2019. My wife and I have 3 children.
About my practice:
As a family medicine doctor, I take pride in providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients of all ages. My practice focuses on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and acute care, ensuring that individuals and families receive personalized treatment tailored to their unique needs. I strive to build lasting relationships with my patients, guiding them through every stage of life with a focus on wellness and long-term health. Whether it’s a routine check-up, managing a complex condition, or offering guidance on healthy living, my goal is to be a trusted partner in my patients’ healthcare journey.
How I thrive:
I enjoy staying active and connecting with nature through hiking, running and going to the beach. I also love reading, Lego, and board games, not necessarily in that order. My Christian faith is vitally important to me; as an outflow of that, my family has been part of the fostering community on Guam since 2017, and we are active in various ministries of our church. I’m committed to supporting local initiatives that make a positive impact and contribute to the well-being of our island. My love for adventure and community involvement allows me to live a fulfilling life while helping others thrive.

About Me
Biography:
I was born and raised in Guam and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam. I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Guam. My career in healthcare began at Guam Memorial Hospital, where I dedicated about 17 years, starting as a Graduate Nurse and Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department. I later joined a team that led the hospital to achieve Joint Commission Accreditation. When I left GMH, I was serving as the interim Deputy Nursing Administrator.
My experiences as a nurse leader at GMH inspired me to focus on preventing hospital admissions, which motivated me to advance my education. I pursued my Post Master’s Nurse Practitioner certificate and later earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice. In addition to my civilian career, I proudly serve as a Commander in the United States Navy Reserves and am a veteran who has served in Afghanistan.
About my practice:
I currently work as a Family Nurse Practitioner, caring for patients of all ages. I focus on preventive care, managing chronic conditions, and promoting overall wellness. I am also certified in Advance diabetes management, assisting AMC’s endocrinologist in improving and managing diabetes in Guam. My goal is to provide quality healthcare and support my community in living healthier lives.
How I thrive:
I find joy and strength through my family, especially when watching and supporting my son as he plays basketball and volleyball. Being there for him and cheering him on is one of my greatest joys.
