About Us

Who We Are

American Medical Center was founded on the belief that the people of Guam deserved better access to world-class medical care.  In May 2005, AMC opened its first clinic in upper Tumon with four physicians and a lean medical and administrative team.  Ten years later in May 2015, American Medical Center opened its second clinic in Mangilao.

The founders, Dr. Hoa Nguyen and Dr. Vincent Akimoto, never strayed from their vision of providing the best medical care in Guam.  Being physician-owned and operated, AMC continues to lead in delivering top-rated medical care to the island community.

AMC now has three separate locations.  The Tumon and Mangilao clinics are fully equipped with laboratory, pharmacy and x-ray services. The AMC Specialty Clinic is located in Oka, near Guam Memorial Hospital.

The AMC team consists of over 15 providers and 90 medical and administrative support staff.  The AMC partners, Dr. Hoa Nguyen and Dr. Vincent Akimoto, attribute this growth to their commitment to the original vision of always striving to provide the best medical care to Guam’s community.
